What Our Students Say About Us

In my 34 years of teaching at MU’s School of Law, I am happy to report that Sukh is one of the smartest, most hardworking, and talented students I have ever had the pleasure of teaching. Sukh has continued to demonstrate these outstanding attributes following his graduation by becoming one of the stars in the dispute resolution field.

Robert Bailey

Dean at MU School of Law

I recently had the pleasure of taking a class on Cross-Cultural Dispute Resolution taught by Professor Singh. He was a superb teacher and possessed a remarkable command of the subject matter. He taught with great enthusiasm and it was a wonderful opportunity to study with him.

Jon Berkin

Partner at ERM: Environmental Resources Management

Professor Singh was a personal mentor of mine while attending Willamette University. To work with Professor Singh is to work with someone who desires only success for you. He challenges his students to look beyond what is seemingly present, and push for deeper understanding. While at Willamette, in his Cross-Cultural Dispute Resolution course, Professor Singh always went the extra step to challenge his students to move beyond their culture and their comfort zone in order to empathize with our other students. Moreover, Professor Singh was always ready to help us get to where we needed to be. What I remember most fondly are the stories he had from his life, and how he could seemingly always find a way to relate to you on a personal level. As an educator, he is one of the most courteous and kind professors I’ve ever met. He would always make time to speak to his students, to share a laugh, and to genuinely see us for who we are. He is a world-class educator, who does not shy away from a challenge but has the wisdom to change his own perception in order to solve it. People like Professor Singh are rare in this world, and I am a better person for having been his pupil. I hope others are as fortunate as I have been to learn from Professor Singh.

Charles Steele, J.D

Associate Attorney with Reinisch Wilson

I have had the pleasure of being a student of Prof. Singh in Cross-Cultural Dispute Resolution at the University of Southern California, Gould School of Law. He is known to be a star teacher at USC. His insights as a scholar, and his years of experience in teaching, come together on every page of his supplemental reading material. His knowledge of outreach and ability to connect with students is unmatched. He has a contagious passion for teaching. I liked his wit, style, and humor while describing negotiations in a cross-cultural setting. During the course of class participations, Prof. Singh made all the students do different simulations to demonstrate how people negotiate when their cultures are different. It was truly an eye-opener for many of the students since many students went through an impasse while negotiating. His lectures enabled me to be thoughtful, objective, and careful in a cross-cultural setting. His classes also made me think beyond the obvious. I feel this was a valuable course and I would highly recommend it to those who want to make their career in the field of dispute resolution.

Rohit Adlakha

Healthcare Counsel | Sustainability & Tech Enthusiast

Professor Singh has a “student first” mentality that is a rare and endearing quality among Law professors. His genuine care for students permeates his teaching and the approach he takes in planning class meetings. Professor Singh has a strong command of the subject material and is able to answer student questions as they arise. While I participated in his Cross-Cultural Dispute Resolution class at Hamline University, Professor Singh was able to explain legal concepts, terms, and practices to me, a Middle School teacher, in a way that was comprehensible, without making me feel as though I did not belong in class. Professor Singh’s care for students extends beyond his classroom. After our class finished, Professor Singh was kind enough to answer my questions about a different class and make sure I was able to confidently move forward. I enthusiastically recommend Professor Singh to any student contemplating taking his class.

Elizabeth de Leon

Middle School Teacher

I had the opportunity to be a student of Professor Singh for a class in Negotiations at the Willamette MBA-P program. This has undoubtedly been one of the most valuable classes I have ever taken. Professor Singh has an incredible wealth of knowledge of negotiations, with deep insight into intercultural negotiations. His teaching style has a unique personal touch that makes it relatable, memorable, and truly enjoyable. I’ve had an opportunity to successfully employ the lessons learned not only in salary negotiations but in everyday life. I cannot recommend this class enough.

Melissa (Barker) Nanavati

Marketing Consultant | Keynote Speaker | Best-Selling Author

Professor Singh is an amazing teacher. His creativity and well-liked personality made learning fun and engaging for students. His lectures resonated profoundly with me of his passion for teaching real-world applications of negotiation knowledge. I learned a great deal about negotiation and life lessons from Professor Singh. I highly recommend Professor Singh’s negotiation class to all MBA students needing to fulfill elective credits.

Jod Oudom

Avionics Engineer

Professor Singh was my negotiation coach and mediation professor at Willamette University Law School. He is an incredible teacher and coach, taking my partner and me all the way to the ABA Negotiation Competition, national round in New Orleans. He is not only a talented mediator, but he is able to impart his craft on other people and helped us grow as both mediators and negotiators. In class, he is a flexible and kind teacher, helping students learn about case law as well as clinical techniques. I look forward to working with him and learning from him more in the future!

Lindsay Freedman

Homeschool Teacher and Advocate

I had the privilege of taking Professor Singh’s Negotiations class in my last year at Willamette University’s Atkinson Graduate School of Management. His mixture of reading materials and role-playing exercises made the class both informative and engaging. His approach to teaching is equally collaborative and inviting. I would highly recommend anyone interested in negotiations to take this class; it was definitely an eye-opening experience for me.

Nathaniel Giscombe, CE, MBA

Senior Finance Professional at Intel Corporation

Professor Sukhsimranjit Singh is a remarkable educator whose impact extends far beyond the classroom. His expertise in cross-cultural dispute resolution and his ability to connect on a personal level make him an invaluable mentor. The lessons I’ve learned from him have significantly shaped my leadership approach at Scale. I highly recommend Professor Singh to anyone seeking a deeper understanding of negotiations and cross-cultural dynamics.
